Above: Touch home, reach sky, an installation at the public library in Flagstaff, AZ, Maria Salenger and Jones Studio. Served on the design team, this project also has inclusive design and low-water plantings. The artwork received the Distinction for Art in Public Places at Arizona Forward’s 42nd Annual Environmental Excellence Awards in 2024.

Many of the above projects were underway and under the supervision of Eliza as the Manager of Beautification, Arts and Sciences Program at the City of Flagstaff. The tree planting references our urban forestry work to improve communities, and River Source is a current client.

Community Engagement and Improvement on economic vitality, social and environmental issues, dynamic and inspiring public spaces, public art, placemaking, and disaster recovery across the nation.

Public Art Projects such as these wraps on traffic signal cabinets. Pictured art is by Kayley Quick. This project began when Eliza was the lead for the Beautification, Arts and Sciences program at the City of Flagstaff, and continues today. Project Manager: Jana Weldon.

Green Spaces such as the Flagstaff Flower Program: Eliza created a new planting program in Flagstaff in a collaborative process with the City Manager’s office. It includes cascades of hanging baskets, large planters, and pollinator demonstration gardens.

Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network: Serving on the core team (as a consultant of IBIS) of the Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Project that aims to plant trees and provide technical support to community partners to ensure that our trees are cared for like the valuable resources we know them to be. 2024-Present.

After Wildfire Guide for Arizona: Created and designed this guide (with Bohannon Design Team) to help communities across the state recover from destructive wildfire with the AZ Wildfire Initiative, the SW Fire Science Consortium, Northern Arizona University, and the Forest Stewards Guild, 2025.

Art, Culture, Science & The Future in Flagstaff: Lead a project with the City of Flagstaff with community engagement, leader surveys, and public input on where Art, Culture, Science and public art are in Flagstaff, and what the community wants to see in the future. Completed in 2024.
